The county's libraries have got the X Chapter... thanks to the Get It Loud In Libraries project.

Brit Award winners Florence and The Machine and Adele as well as Bat For Lashes and Juliette Lewis are just some of the acts who've played in our local libraries since its launch in 2005.

And this year's Get It Loud line-up won't disappoint either.

They have bookmarked two of the hottest rising music stars - Ellie Goulding and Daisy Dares You - for the 2010 events.

The brainchild of Stewart Parsons of Lancashire Libraries, the project was exclusive to Lancashire but it's proved so popular the rest of the country's libraries are following our lead.

Concept

Sixteen year old pop starlet Daisy Dares You - who was short-listed for the BBC Sound Of 2010 - will be taking the concept to the rest of the UK in a six date Get It Loud In Libraries tour.

Daisy Dares You plays at Morecambe Library on 19 March.

As well as the national tour, Lancaster Library is staging a series of gigs including one by Ellie Goulding, the recent recipient of the Brits Critics' Choice Award.

She is playing live and loud on 9 April 2010 although tickets have already sold out.

The initiative aims to get young people - who are the lowest users of libraries - through the doors via their love of music.

Parsons explains: "The aim is to present the best of pop culture and new music in the traditional library setting months before many of the acts breakthrough and also allow young people a great, often 'first time' time in a library."

We've been getting some great reviews in the media, so why not shout about it?
